The Jaipur Polo Team etched another glorious chapter in their dominant season by defeating Carisill Suhana 14-10 to lift the Raffles Sirmour Cup. This eighth championship triumph came via superior control and offensive firepower over six chukkers in Jaipur.
Suhana struck first, capitalizing on rapid breaks to forge a 3-1 edge after the opening chukker. Jaipur steadied the ship in the second, enhancing ball retention and defensive solidity, but entered halftime down 4-3.
Momentum flipped dramatically in the third chukker as Jaipur unleashed a barrage. Dynamic forward surges, orchestrated by Lance Watson’s goal-mouth mastery and Manuel Fernandez Lorente’s support, flipped the scoreboard to 8-6 in their favor.
A gritty fourth chukker followed, marked by robust defending from both sides, preserving Jaipur’s narrow lead at 8-6. Their patience paid off as they methodically built ascendancy.
The fifth chukker was a rout, with Jaipur’s relentless assaults pushing the score to 11-6. Suhana fought back valiantly in the sixth through Vial and Prado’s efforts, but Jaipur’s depth sealed a 14-10 victory.
Watson’s nine-goal haul headlined the performance, complemented by Lorente’s four and a single from Maharaja Sawai Padmanabh Singh. This victory underscores Jaipur’s blend of tactical acumen and raw power, crowning a remarkable campaign.
