Jaffna Kings Rebranded as Anchor Jaffna Kings Ahead of New LPL Season

Following the completion of Anchor Sports AB’s acquisition, the celebrated Lanka Premier League franchise Jaffna Kings will compete under the new name “Anchor Jaffna Kings.” The rebranding reflects the strategic partnership between former Indian international bowler Jahir Khan and Anchor Sports founder Nagendra Siddhuttam.

The franchise, which has won four out of five LPL titles, continues its strong campaign this season with four victories in six matches, guided by captain Bhanuka Rajapaksa. The team remains one of the leading contenders for the upcoming championship.

Nagendra Siddhuttam highlighted the significance of the move, stating, “Sri Lanka boasts a rich cricketing heritage, and the LPL has quickly become a well‑run, highly competitive league. Expanding our global footprint through Anchor Jaffna Kings is a natural progression, and we are excited to invest further in the league’s growth.”
