    In the 22nd match of IPL 2025, Punjab Kings (PBKS) defeated Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by 18 runs to register the third win of the season. The match was played at Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Chandigarh, where Punjab batted first and scored a huge score of 219/6 in 20 overs. In response, CSK’s team could reach 201/5 only.

But then Priyansh Arya took over the innings in a stormy style and hit 103 runs in just 42 balls, including 7 fours and 9 sixes.     Indian who scored the fastest century in the IPL (in terms of over) – Virat Kohli’s record broke by completing a century in just 12.5 overs (Kohli scored a century in 13.3 overs in 2016). The 8th unaccounted player to score a century in the IPL, the second fastest Indian batsman, who completed the century in just 42 balls, reached number 4 in the list of fastest centuries in IPL, Tej only Tej Chris Gayle (30 balls), Yusuf Pathan (37 balls) and David Miller (38 balls), only 50+ runs in powerplay.

    Priyansh Arya first came into the limelight when he made a panic in an over by playing for the Delhi Superstars in the Delhi Premier League (DPL). In this league, he scored 2 stormy centuries and a total of 608 runs. Also, he became the top run scorer by hitting 43 sixes in 10 innings.

    Punjab bought for 3.8 crores, even serious connection

    After a brilliant performance in the DPL, several teams vied to buy Priyansh in the IPL 2025 mega auction. Punjab Kings eventually included him in his team for Rs 3.80 crore.
