International Stars Join Combines FC for SLK Season 3, Coach Gilhan Returns

Combines FC announced a diverse roster for the third season of the Kerala Super League, marking the first time the club fields a truly multinational lineup. Six foreign players – hailing from Brazil, Ghana, Colombia and Angola – have signed contracts, joining a core of promising local athletes from Tiruvananthapuram and surrounding districts.

The club’s technical leadership was also revealed. Scottish head coach Ian Gilhan, celebrated for delivering Calicut FC’s maiden league title, will resume his role at the helm. Sunush Raj T has been named assistant coach, and veteran administrator Abhilash VS will oversee team operations.

The unveiling took place on September 20 at the historic Kanakakunnu Palace, with Kerala Transport Minister C.P. John presenting the new jersey to a cheering audience. The minister lauded the club’s growing reputation and anticipated that the blend of international experience and regional talent will sharpen the league’s overall quality.

Combines FC’s campaign kicks off with an away fixture against Calicut FC on September 26 in Kozhikode. The first home encounter is slated for October 4, when the team will host current champions Kannur FC at the Chandrasekharan Nair Stadium.
