Indian Women’s Squash Earns Fourth Asian Games Medal

Nagoya, October 1 – The Indian women’s squash contingent concluded the 2026 Asian Games with a bronze medal finish. After a tightly contested semifinal against Hong Kong that ended 1‑2, the team rallied in the third‑place match.

Anahat Singh’s strong start, winning 11‑9 and 11‑8, was eclipsed by Chan Sin Yuk’s comeback streak of 11‑6, 13‑11 and 12‑10. Tanvi Khanna then delivered a remarkable turnaround, erasing a 4‑11 first‑game deficit to claim three consecutive wins (13‑11, 11‑9, 13‑11).

The decisive frame saw Josna Chinappa fall to Ho Tze Lok, who sealed the semifinal with 11‑4, 11‑7 and 11‑9. Despite the loss, India’s resolve earned them bronze, the nation’s fourth squash medal at the Asian Games. Previously, Indian players secured silvers in men’s and women’s singles and in mixed doubles.
