Indian Squash Stars Tanvi Khanha, Suraj Chand Set for Semi-Final Clashes

At the HCL Squash PSA Challenger Tour in Kolkata, two Indian athletes have earned semi‑final berths. Tanvi Khanha, holding a top seed in the women’s draw, beat the nation’s sixth seed Nrupama Dubey decisively, advancing to meet Egypt’s third seed Sohaila Hazem.

Suraj Kumar Chand, a recent World University singles champion, overcame eighth‑seed Om Semwal in a clean 4‑0 victory, lining up a showdown with Egypt’s top‑seeded Mohammad Gohar.

The tournament also featured dramatic five‑game contests, notably Message Palaniwel Ravikumar’s reversal of a 0‑2 deficit to defeat sixth‑seed Ayan Vajiralli, and a marathon 73‑minute duel where Chand toppled Egypt’s Hassan Menashavi.

Each gender’s prize fund stands at $9,000, following the PSA Challenger’s circuit through Indore, Mumbai and Chennai before reaching the Kolkata leg.
