India vs New Zealand 5th T20I: Toss Report, Teams and Captains' Views
Hamilton, November 1
India and New Zealand meet in the fifth and last T20 International of the series at Seddon Park. New Zealand won the toss and opted to field first.
Speaking after the toss, New Zealand skipper Mitchell Santner said the team had not expected to win it. He highlighted the newness of the pitch and the possibility of dew later in the innings. "We have to find balance quickly. Some bounce, like we saw at Eden Park, would be helpful. Our batting has been consistent across the series. In the previous game, the quick bowlers were rewarded. Only one change for us: Tickner is back."
India captain Shreyas Iyer described the chance to play at a historic venue as a great opportunity. "We wanted to bat and test ourselves in the first innings. Auckland was a different story, with Phillips doing well. We have two changes for this match, with Varun and Bhuvneshwar coming back."
The hosts' opponents already lead the series 3-1, having claimed the first three matches to take the trophy. New Zealand responded in the fourth T20I, winning by 87 runs. India will look to get back on track, while New Zealand want to keep their momentum going.
