India U-17 Squad Set for Kuala Lumpur Qualifying Campaign

The India Under-17 men's team has its roster for the AFC U-17 Asian Cup Uzbekistan 2027 qualifiers, with head coach Merajuddin Wadoo naming 23 players for the continental campaign. The tournament will be staged in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from November 11 to 20.

With a second successive qualification in mind, India has been placed in Group E alongside Malaysia, Palestine, Singapore and Guam. Only the group winners will progress to the final tournament in Uzbekistan, set for May 12 to 29, 2027.

The group campaign opens on November 11 against Singapore, followed by fixtures against Guam on November 14, Palestine on November 17 and Malaysia on November 20. The MPS Selayang Stadium will host all the group matches.

Final preparations include two friendlies against the United Arab Emirates in Ras Al Khaimah on November 1 and 4, both starting at 8:30 PM IST. The same 23 players will feature in these matches and will travel straight to Kuala Lumpur on November 5.

The squad is made up of three goalkeepers, eight defenders, six midfielders and six forwards. It follows a recent tour of Myanmar, where India drew 1-1 in Thanlyin before winning 4-0 in the second friendly. The team continued training in Goa and left for the UAE on October 30.

Match timings for India's group games are set. The Singapore opener kicks off at 6:30 PM IST, the Guam and Palestine games start at 1:00 PM IST, and the Malaysia finale begins at 6:30 PM IST on November 20.
