Bronze medal triumph for India’s table tennis duo despite semi‑final loss

Manush Shah and Diya Chitole brought home a bronze medal for India in the mixed doubles table‑tennis event at the Asian Games 2026. Their journey began with a convincing 3‑1 victory over world‑ranked opponents Wong Chun and Du Ho in the quarter‑finals.

Facing the two‑time Asian Games gold‑medal winners Sun Yingsha and Wang Chuqin in the semi‑final, the Indian pair could not replicate their earlier form. The Chinese champions swept the match 4‑0, with game scores of 11‑8, 11‑5, 11‑8 and 11‑2.

While the semi‑final ended in disappointment, the bronze medal adds a new chapter to India's table‑tennis legacy, making Shah and Chitole the second Indian mixed‑doubles team to earn a medal at these Games.
