India Post 328/6 in Vadodara as Deepti and Harmanpreet Shine
The second one-day match between India Women and Zimbabwe Women at the BCA Stadium in Vadodara saw India post a formidable total of 328 for six wickets in 50 overs. Two centuries from Deepti Sharma and Harmanpreet Kaur powered the innings.
Deepti Sharma was the standout performer. She completed her hundred in 83 balls, her second 50-over century after a gap of nine years. Her first ODI century had come against Ireland in 2017.
Batting through the innings, Deepti finished on 106 not out from 86 balls. She hit 15 fours and built her score with calm and steady strokeplay.
Her knock is also a landmark in Indian women's ODI history. She became the first Indian batter to score an ODI century at number six or below. Before this, the best score from that batting position was Richa Ghosh's 94, scored last year.
Deepti and Harmanpreet also put together a crucial 153-run stand for the fifth wicket. It is the highest partnership for India in ODIs for the fifth wicket or lower. The record they overtook belonged to Sneh Rana and Pooja Vastrakar, who had shared 122 runs in 2022.
Deepti's century is the fifth-fastest by an Indian woman in ODIs in terms of balls. The fastest by an Indian in this format is still Smriti Mandhana's 50-ball century against Australia in 2025.
Harmanpreet Kaur was equally fluent. Her 126 came off 121 balls with 15 fours, and it marked her first international century in 15 months.
The combined efforts of both batters helped India reach 328 for six in the 50-over innings.
