India must seek equal contests, says Gambhir after 6‑wicket loss to West Indies

Gautam Gambhir reiterated that India aims to play on an even footing with its opponents. He observed that bowlers should not be forced to bow on a batsman’s mercy, but rather be granted genuine opportunities to compete.

“The bowlers are our own, their careers are on the line, and they have worked hard to be in the dressing room,” Gambhir said. “When the contest is balanced, we all enjoy a better game of cricket."

He added that the team will keep refining its strategies to achieve this equilibrium, ensuring future matches are decided by skill rather than favorable conditions.
