India Secures Fourth Place at Commonwealth Games 2026 with 39 Medals
India concluded the Commonwealth Games 2026 in Glasgow ranked fourth on the medal table, having amassed a total of 39 medals – 13 gold, 17 silver and 9 bronze. The tally came despite a scaled‑down programme that omitted several high‑medal sports such as wrestling, badminton, table tennis, hockey and shooting. The boxing squad delivered a standout performance with seven gold and three silver medals. The judo contingent also recorded its best ever showing, earning two gold, one silver and one bronze. In athletics, Indian competitors secured ten medals, split evenly between five silvers and five bronzes. Notably, track‑and‑field athlete Gulveer Singh became the first Indian to win two individual medals at a single Commonwealth Games, taking silver in the men’s 10,000 metres and bronze in the 5,000 metres.
