India Climbs to Fourth in Asian Para Games 2026 Medal Tally
India has moved into fourth position in the medal tally at the Asian Para Games 2026. The country has accumulated 88 medals so far, with 21 gold, 26 silver and 41 bronze.
The top of the table is held by China, which has won 314 medals, including 150 gold. Japan is second with 136 medals, and Uzbekistan is third with 120 medals, including 38 gold.
South Korea is placed just behind India in fifth position. The Korean team has 70 medals, comprising 21 gold, 23 silver and 26 bronze.
Para athletics has been the biggest contributor to India's total. Indian track and field athletes have won 52 medals, with 18 of them gold and 18 bronze.
Para archery has been another highlight. Sheetal Devi, aged 19, won gold in the mixed team event with Tomen Kumar and then claimed an individual gold, taking two golds in one day and adding significantly to India's medal count.
The country has also secured medals in para swimming with 10, para badminton with 8 and para archery with 4 in total across these disciplines.
Although India matches South Korea on gold medals, its higher silver count is the reason it sits above the Korean team in the standings.
The steady flow of medals, particularly in para athletics, has strengthened India's position at the Asian Para Games 2026. Upcoming competitions offer Indian athletes further chances to climb the table.
