India chase down 57 runs in 8.4 overs to defeat Pakistan

The ninth fixture of the Women’s Asia Cup 2026 saw India face Pakistan on a breezy Dubai evening. Pakistan set a modest total of 56 runs, losing their first wicket at 27 as opening pair Muniba Ali and Shawal Zulfikar fell early.

India’s response was methodical yet aggressive. After a cautious start where early wickets fell for 12 and 4 runs respectively, captain Harmanpreet Kaur steadied the innings, scoring an unbeaten 18 off 18 balls. Deepti Sharma accelerated the chase with a swift 12 from 14 deliveries, ensuring the required run rate stayed low.

At 55/7, India required just one run, which came in the final ball of the 8.4‑over chase. The win by seven wickets underscated India’s superiority in both batting depth and bowling precision, as they restricted Pakistan to 55 all out.
