India's Captain Targets 203 Runs to Surpass Tendulkar in England Series

Virat Kohli, back in the Indian side after half a year, has a clear objective for the three‑match ODI series against England starting July 14 – score at least 203 runs and become the second player ever to cross 15,000 ODI runs.

Kohli’s career numbers are already impressive: 311 ODIs, 299 innings, 14,797 runs at a 58.71 average, accompanied by 54 centuries and 77 half‑centuries. The 203‑run mark would see him eclipse the milestone first reached by Sachin Tendulkar, who needed 359 innings to achieve it in 2007.

His record against England underlines his capability: 1,397 runs in 38 innings (average 41) with three hundreds and ten fifties, and on English soil 1,349 runs from 33 innings at 51.88, comprising one century and twelve fifties.

India will be eager to see Kohli keep his "Viraat" form alive through the series, with the second game slated for July 16 and the third on July 19.
