India's bowling dominance secures gold in Asian Games final against Pakistan

New Delhi, 3 October – Bowling proved the decisive factor in the Asian Games 2026 cricket final where India outperformed Pakistan by 19 runs to retain the gold medal. After India posted 212 runs, Pakistan’s chase faltered at 192 for six.

Early breakthroughs by India’s pacers saw Farhan Sahibzada dismissed for ten and Usman Khan for three. Maz Sadakat’s brief 23‑run stint added little momentum.

The lower order fightback was led by Hasan Nawaz, who, together with Sam Ayub, forged a 87‑run stand. Nawaz’s aggressive 96 off 51 balls, marked by five fours and seven sixes, could not overturn the deficit.

Indian bowlers Akshar Patel, Washington Sundar and Shivam Dubey each claimed two wickets, demonstrating depth and precision.

Pakistan’s valiant effort earned them the silver medal, while India celebrated a back‑to‑back gold in the Asian Games cricket competition.
