India A's December T20 Stint in Kathmandu Highlights Growing Cricket Ties
The upcoming India ‘A’ tour of Nepal underlines the strengthening relationship between the two cricket boards. Announced by the Cricket Association of Nepal, the three‑match Twenty‑20 series will be played at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground on 9, 11 and 13 December. The schedule was locked in after a productive meeting in Edinburgh at the ICC annual conference, where officials from both sides – Chatur Bahadur Chand, Paras Khadka and BCCI secretary Devjit Saikia – aligned on dates and logistics. Nepal, which recently completed a high‑performance camp at the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bangalore and participated in a triangular series against domestic sides from Gujarat and Baroda, will use this series to fine‑tune its squad ahead of the 2024 T20 World Cup qualifiers. Meanwhile, India ‘A’ can field emerging talents who have shone in the IPL, providing them with valuable overseas experience.
