India's massive 503/9 declaration puts Sri Lanka under 500-run deficit

Early setbacks saw KL Rahul dismissed for 18 and Yashasvi Jaiswal for 45, but Shubman Gill steadied the innings with a solid 50, striking six fours. The third‑wicket partnership between Gill and Devdutt Padikkal yielded 120 runs, the latter finishing on 117 with a dozen fours.
