In a powerful display of community spirit and athletic enthusiasm, IIT Guwahati hosted the 75th edition of Fit India Sunday on Cycle, themed around India's Commonwealth Games 2030 ambitions. The event, led by Union Minister Raksha Khadse, combined fitness promotion with national pride in a memorable Sunday morning rally. Organized by the Sports Authority of India in partnership with IIT Guwahati, the gathering drew athletes, students, and local residents who cycled through the scenic campus routes. The rally served as both a fitness initiative and a celebration of India's growing role in international sports. In her address, Minister Khadse highlighted how the Fit India Movement has transformed fitness culture across the nation. She noted that the Sunday on Cycle program, held every weekend nationwide, continues to encourage citizens of all ages to embrace healthier lifestyles. Special highlights included a Thang-Ta martial arts performance, yoga sessions, and an exhibition showcasing India's sporting milestones. Commonwealth Games medalists Jayant Talukdar and Sushila Devi Likmabam motivated the youth with personal stories of perseverance and success on the global stage. The program also recognized young talents through a quiz and painting competition focused on the Commonwealth Games theme. With participation from thousands of locations across India, the 75th edition reinforced the movement's impact on building a robust sports ecosystem ahead of 2030.
