ICC adds demerit point to Jayasuriya after night‑watchman incident in Colombo

Prabath Jayasuriya, named as a night‑watchman for Sri Lanka, was dismissed on the final ball of day two by India’s left‑handed spinner Manish Suthar. In a moment of frustration he hit the boundary‑board advertising panel with his bat and threw his gloves away. The ICC charged him under clause 2.2 of its Code of Conduct for misuse of match equipment. After acknowledging the violation, Jayasuriya accepted a formal reprimand and a demerit point without the need for a further hearing.
