Hong Kong Sixes 2026: Sri Lanka Aims for Third Title with New Line‑up
Sri Lanka’s cricket board has finalized a seven‑player squad for the Hong Kong Sixes 2026, appointing Musick Kure as captain. The roster also lists Mouvin Subasinghe, Vishan Halambage, Chamindu Vijesinghe, Sachitha Jayatileke, Ravindu Fernando and Muditha Lakshana.
Running from 30 October to 1 November, the Hong Kong Sixes is celebrated for its brisk, high‑impact matches that feature six overs per innings and a six‑player side. After two previous victories, the Sri Lankan side will be keen to clinch a third championship.
Hong Kong’s cricket officials emphasized their excitement about hosting the Sri Lankan team again, expecting plenty of memorable moments for local and international supporters.
The competition comprises twelve nations allocated into four pools. Sri Lanka finds itself in Pool B alongside Bangladesh and Scotland, while the remaining pools host a mix of cricket powerhouses such as Australia, England, India, Pakistan and others.
Key tournament rules allow each bowler to deliver a single over, with the exception of the wicket‑keeper and a designated bowler who may bowl two overs, adding a strategic layer to squad selection.
The newly announced line‑up blends seasoned performers with promising youngsters, positioning Sri Lanka to make a decisive push for the coveted Sixes trophy.
