Harmanpreet, Deepti Tons Lift India to 328 Against Zimbabwe

Vadodara, October 25: Batting first in the second ODI against Zimbabwe, the Indian women's team reached 328 for six wickets in their allotted 50 overs. Centuries from Harmanpreet Kaur and Deepti Sharma were the highlights of the innings at the BCA Stadium.

Smriti Mandhana won the toss and asked India to bat. The start was disappointing, as she departed for a duck. Shafali Verma made 8 before falling, leaving India 19 for 2.

Pratika Rawal and Harmanpreet Kaur then rebuilt the innings. They shared a 124-run third-wicket stand from 118 balls. Pratika struck a fine 61 off 67 balls. Tejal Hasabnis fell for 3.

Harmanpreet stayed firm at one end, and Deepti Sharma provided able support. Together they added 153 runs for the fifth wicket from 137 balls.

Harmanpreet's 126 came off 121 balls and included 15 fours. It was her first international century in 15 months and her eighth in ODIs. The milestone moved her ahead of Mithali Raj, who had seven, to become India's second-highest centurion in the format.

Richa Ghosh could only score 7 before being dismissed. Deepti brought up her second ODI century in 83 balls and remained unbeaten on 106 off 86 deliveries, hitting 15 fours. Sayali Satghare was unbeaten on 3.

In the Zimbabwe attack, Nomvelo Sibanda took the most wickets with 2. Tendai Makusha and Michelle Mawunga claimed one each.
