"Qualifying for the World Cup is not a fantasy; it is a realistic target if we commit to daily hard work and honest competition," Prabhakaran said. "We must bring together coaches, players, sponsors and fans under a shared vision."

The former administrator suggested regular performance audits, transparent selection processes and incentives for clubs that develop homegrown talent. By embedding a culture of continuous improvement, India can elevate its senior and youth teams to compete with Asian rivals.

Prabhakaran also reminded listeners that football enjoys massive viewership in India, second only to cricket. Harnessing this audience through grassroots programs could create a virtuous cycle of talent identification and fan support.
