Gwalior Cricket Community Receives Gifts and Guidance During Diwali Festivities

In a bright Diwali‑themed gathering, the Gwalior Division Cricket Association honored a group of promising cricketers from the city. The event was highlighted by a live video address from Maha Aryaman Sindhia, who leads the Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association, offering words of support and distributing several presents.

Sangram Singh Kadam, the GDCA chairman, disclosed that two players were awarded cash sums of ₹10,000 each. Two additional state representatives walked away with complete cricket gear, and another duo received electric bicycles to assist with their daily travel. A player linked to wheelchair cricket was gifted a brand‑new wheelchair, improving his ability to play.

Sindhia urged the athletes to accept these tokens as encouragement for future success, assuring them that their performances will shine a light on both GDCA and MPCA. Ranji Trophy player Akshay Sharma was presented with a scooter; he shared that Sindhia’s message will also inspire younger teammates, reinforcing the need to constantly prepare for higher levels.

Women’s cricketer Honey Yadav, who has played across U‑19, U‑23 and senior camps, received an e‑bike and lauded the continuous backing from the MPCA president. Sindhia’s Diwali wishes, conveyed through a video call, left a lasting impression on the participants.

General Singh Dhakad, the manager of the Indian wheelchair cricket team, was handed a wheelchair as part of the Diwali gifts. He expressed deep gratitude to Sindhia for acknowledging the challenges faced by the wheelchair squad and for providing essential equipment.
