Government Names 17 Arjuna Awardees and 3 Dronacharya Coaches for 2025
On Tuesday, 18 August 2025, the Government of India, through the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, disclosed the list of National Sports Award winners. The list includes seventeen athletes for the Arjuna Award and three coaches for the Dronacharya Award, selected after a thorough review by a committee led by former Supreme Court Justice Arun Kumar Mishra.
The Arjuna Awardees are: Tejaswin Shankar, Mohammad Azmal V, Priyanka Goswami, Trisha Jolly, Pooja Gayatri Gopichand, Narendra, Vidit Santosh Gujarati, Divya Jitendra Deshmukh, Dhanush Shrikant, Lalmremsyami, Rajkumar Pal, Surjeet, Pooja, Rudransh Khandelwal, Ekta Bhyan, Arvind Singh and Akhil Shyoran. I. Arumainayagam receives the lifetime Arjuna Award.
The Dronacharya Award is presented to coaches Parveer Singh, Chhote Lal Yadav and Neha Nandkumar Chavan, with lifetime recognitions for Dharmendra Singh Yadav and Virendra Kumar. The Army Paralympic Node, Pune, is honoured with the National Sports Promotion Award 2025.
