Gold rush continues for India in women's foil, men's epee and sabre events

Day three of the Commonwealth Fencing Championships turned into a gold rush for India. Senior athletes triumphed in three individual events, bringing the country's medal total to 29.

Kanagalakshmi seized gold in the senior women's foil with a controlled display, while teammate Joys Ashita earned silver, leaving England's Georgia Green and Emily Goodchild behind.

Rajendran Shantimoli Sherjin captured gold in senior men's epee, defeating South Africa's Peter Kruger, who settled for silver. The bronze medals went to Wales' Mark Berkheart and South Africa's Sergei Losevsky.

In senior men's sabre, Singh Karan Singh outclassed Australia's Shim Yoon‑gi to claim his third gold of the day. Shim received silver, and Kumarasion Padma Gisho Nidhi added a bronze by beating Nigeria's Akinyosoye Oluwafolayemi.

With eight gold medals now in the bag, the Indian delegation is eyeing the final rounds in foil, epee and sabre, aiming to cement its dominance before the championship concludes.
