Gold for India’s Women Hockey Team, Direct Qualification for LA 2028 Olympics

The Indian women’s hockey team clinched gold at the 2026 Asian Games and, with it, an automatic spot at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. After a disciplined performance in the group stages, India entered the final against China with confidence. A single goal in the opening ten minutes proved enough as the team’s defensive unit, led by captain Salima Tete, repelled wave after wave of Chinese attacks. The victory ends a 44‑year wait for a gold medal and adds a coveted Olympic qualification to the list of achievements for the squad.
