Girl Athletes and Para‑blind Shooter Highlight Government Support at Jamnagar Event

The recent ‘Khelo India Dialogue’ in Jamnagar placed a spotlight on women and differently‑abled athletes. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s virtual interaction underscored the need for inclusive participation as India readies itself for the 2030 Commonwealth Games and the 2036 Olympics. Karate ace Yashasvi Singh, fresh from a silver‑medal finish at the South Asian Karate Championship in Bangladesh, praised the government’s encouragement. Para‑blind shooter Thakur Khodaji, a former Asian Games representative, echoed the sentiment, urging youngsters to stay away from harmful habits and to strive for medals in every discipline. Incentive programmes run by KDF, KEO and DSO were described as catalysts for increased interest among girls and disabled athletes alike. MLA Divyesh Akbari and Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, both present at the event, reiterated the goal of building a ‘Developed India’ through sport.
