Ganguly joins elite list of Indian ICC Hall of Famers

Saurav Ganguly’s name now appears among the most revered cricketers in history after his induction into the ICC Hall of Fame. The accolade was bestowed on his 54th birthday, highlighting a career that left an indelible mark on Indian cricket.

Prominent personalities from the sport expressed their admiration. Former spinner Harbhajan Singh sent his wishes on social media, while former teammate Yuvraj Singh praised Ganguly’s role in shaping a fearless cricketing era. Sachin Tendulkar, who shared countless opening stands with Ganguly, posted a nostalgic tribute.

Ganguly’s on‑field achievements feature 113 Test matches and 311 One‑Day Internationals, with run tallies of 7,212 and 11,363 respectively. Beyond numbers, his tenure as captain is credited with fostering bold players and guiding India to the 2003 World Cup final.

He becomes the 12th Indian to be honoured by the ICC, following legends such as Bishan Singh Bedi, Sunil Gavaskar, Kapil Dev, Anil Kumble, Rahul Dravid, Sachin Tendulkar, Veni Mankad, Diana Edulji, Virender Sehwag, Neetu David and MS Dhoni.
