Fourth T20I: Arshdeep and Santner Chase 150-Wicket Landmark

New Delhi, October 28: The fourth T20 International between India and New Zealand takes place on Friday, and two bowlers are close to a major achievement. India's Arshdeep Singh and New Zealand's Mitchell Santner each need one wicket to reach 150 international T20 wickets.

Arshdeep has picked up 149 wickets in 102 T20I matches. If he dismisses one batter in the fourth game, he will become the first Indian bowler to take 150 wickets in the format. He will also be the second left-arm fast bowler to reach the mark, after Bangladesh's Mustafizur Rahman, who has 163 wickets in 130 matches.

Santner, who captains New Zealand, is also one wicket away from 150 T20I wickets. He has 149 wickets from 141 matches. A wicket on Friday would make him the first left-arm spinner to reach this landmark in international T20 cricket.

The two bowlers are currently jointly ninth on the all-time list of leading wicket-takers in T20 internationals. Shakib Al Hasan, the former Bangladesh captain, is also ninth with 149 wickets from 129 matches.

Afghanistan's Rashid Khan remains at the top of the list with 199 wickets in 119 matches. England's Adil Rashid is second with 171 wickets from 153 matches, followed by Hong Kong's Ehsan Khan with 165 wickets in 119 matches. New Zealand's Ish Sodhi (165 wickets from 142 matches) and Tim Southee (164 wickets from 126 matches) complete the top five.
