Fortis Announces ‘Fit Gurgaon’ Series, Marathon Kicks Off on Oct 4
Fortis Memorial Research Institute (FMRI) in Gurgaon has announced a city‑wide health promotion effort titled “Fit Gurgaon.” The campaign launches with a marathon on 4 October, offering four categories ranging from a 2.5 kilometre fun run to a 21 kilometre half‑marathon. Facility Director Yash Rawat said the event is designed to connect health services directly with the public, encouraging preventive health checks, nutritious eating habits and routine exercise. Registration for the marathon opened on Friday, and the organisers are calling for widespread community involvement. Group COO Anil Vinayak emphasized that the surge in lifestyle‑related diseases stems largely from a lack of physical activity, and that regular movement—whether through jogging, walking, gym workouts, or yoga—is essential for wellbeing. The marathon will feature celebrity participant Milind Soman, and Fortis plans additional fitness workshops and events under the Fit Gurgaon umbrella throughout the year.
