New Delhi – After steering India’s senior men’s team to an unprecedented collection of titles, Ajit Agarkar stepped down as chief selector. The BCCI’s official post celebrated his contribution, noting the three ICC crowns, two Asia Cup triumphs and two Asian Games golds that defined his era.
Agarkar’s tenure also saw India contest the 2023 ODI World Cup final and dominate T20 tournaments in 2024, 2025 and 2026. He last fielded the side for the T20 series against the West Indies before handing over the reins.
The governing body confirmed that Pragyan Ojha will act as interim selector, with Shiv Sundar Das, Ajay Ratra and RP Singh retaining spots on the senior selection committee.
