Former Pakistan Women All‑Rounder Kainat Imtiaz Steps Away from International Play

Lahore – The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) officially announced that Kainat Imtiaz, the former fast‑bowling all‑rounder, will no longer feature in international fixtures. The decision, made in early October, brings to a close a career spanning thirteen years across T20Is and ODIs.

Imtiaz’s debut came in the ICC Women’s T20 Challenge in South Africa (2010) followed by an ODI debut in the ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifier against Ireland (2011). She appeared in 19 ODIs and 21 T20Is, taking 10 and 8 wickets respectively, and contributed useful lower‑order runs.

Beyond the field, Imtiaz has transitioned into officiating, serving as a match referee for the PCB National Women’s Under‑19 T20 tournament earlier this year. Her mother, Salima Imtiaz, broke new ground in 2024 as the first Pakistani female appointed to the ICC International Development Panel.

PCB officials praised Imtiaz’s commitment to cricket development and expressed confidence that her experience will enrich the next generation of women cricketers.
