Former All Black batsman Watling prepared for challenge of 2027 ODI World Cup

The newly‑appointed New Zealand batting coach BJ Watling, a former All Black with 75 Tests, 28 ODIs and five T20s, said the 2027 ODI World Cup is a major target for his tenure. He believes his four years of head‑coaching experience, combined with prior assistant roles, will help him guide young talent. Watling also mentioned his intent to strengthen existing relationships within the camp while getting to know new faces.
