FIDE vice‑president post to be filled by Kazakhstan’s Turlov as Anand withdraws

The FIDE General Assembly will consider a new candidate for the vice‑president position after Anand’s withdrawal. Timor Turlov, president of the Kazakhstan Chess Federation, has been nominated as Dvorkovich’s running mate. If the current president retains his seat, Anand will remain linked to the administration as a senior advisor, focusing on development programmes for youth, women and senior players worldwide.
