FC Goa Win First ISL 2026-27 Game, Beat Inter Kashi 2-1

Pune, November 1: FC Goa opened their account in the Indian Super League 2026-27 season with a 2-1 victory over Inter Kashi FC in Sunday's second fixture of the campaign.

The match, held at the Balewadi Stadium in Pune, turned in Goa's favour after a strong second-half showing. The win gave them all three points, while Inter Kashi slipped to their third defeat of the season.

Francisco Fuliasier opened the scoring for Goa in the 34th minute and Christian Borrego doubled the lead in the 66th minute. Sumit Passi pulled one back for Inter Kashi in the 51st minute.

Inter Kashi started with purpose. Jitu tried to connect with a header from a ball into the box, but it missed the target. Ayush Chikkara then tested Goa's goal from roughly 25 yards, but his shot went over the bar.

As the first half progressed, Goa began to dominate, and Fuliasier gave them the lead in the 34th minute. Isaac Ralte was instrumental in the goal, beating his defender on the flank and laying the ball off for Fuliasier, who sent a low finish into the bottom corner. Five minutes later, Isaac had a chance to make it 2-0, but his effort passed close to the goal without finding the target.

The second half belonged to Inter Kashi at first. Five minutes after play resumed, Rosenberg Gabriel crossed well from the right, and Sumit Passi headed in to make it 1-1. Goalkeeper Bob Jackson did not move as the ball went in.

Soon after, Jhingan went up for a header from a set piece, but the ball did not reach the target.

Goa then regained the lead with a sharp move. Fuliasier broke through the Inter Kashi defensive line and found substitute Mohammed Nemil with an accurate pass. Nemil took the ball forward and passed it to Borrego, away from Albino Gomes, who was rushing out. Borrego, the Spanish player, was calm in front of goal, got past Prateek Chaudhary's block attempt, and netted his second goal of the season.

Inter Kashi tried to stage a comeback, but Goa maintained their advantage through to the final whistle. In the late stages, coach Gauramangi was sent off for kicking the ball away, which was seen as an attempt to delay the restart. Despite Inter Kashi's efforts, they could not come back, and FC Goa earned their first win of the season.
