Experienced coach Monty Desai could replace Ramesh Powar in Gujarat

Desai’s résumé includes coaching roles with Nepal, Canada, the UAE, and IPL franchises Rajasthan Royals (assistant coach and head scout) and Gujarat Lions (performance coach and scout). He also spent a season as Andhra Pradesh’s head coach and three years as a batting coach for West Indies. During his tenure with Nepal, the team regained its One‑Day International status and qualified for both the 2023 Asia Cup and the 2024 T20 World Cup.
