Dutch National Team Part Ways with Coach After 2026 WC Qualification

Following a round‑of‑32 exit at the World Cup, the Royal Dutch Football Association announced that Ronald Koeman will no longer serve as the head coach of the national side.

Koeman, who accrued 64 official caps as manager, had previously steered the Netherlands to the UEFA Nations League final in 2019 and secured qualification for Euro 2021, Euro 2024 and the upcoming 2026 World Cup.

In his farewell message, Koeman reflected on the highs of his tenure – including a semi‑final run at Euro 2024 – while acknowledging the disappointment of an early World Cup departure. He thanked the coaching staff, the squad and the Dutch public for their unwavering support.

The KNVB indicated that a thorough selection process will begin immediately, aiming to appoint a new head coach who can build on the foundations laid by Koeman.
