Devjit Saikia Confirms BCCI’s Preparedness for Women’s CT

Board secretary Devjit Saikia told reporters that the BCCI is always ready to host major cricketing events, and the Women’s Champions Trophy is no exception. After the ICC removed Sri Lanka’s hosting privileges, the Indian board stepped in, presenting four venue options and finalising two in Mumbai. Saikia said the tournament will feature six top‑ranked teams and will be played across Brabourne and Vaddodar, both of which have previously hosted international women’s fixtures, including the Women’s Premier League. He added that the BCCI’s rapid response demonstrates its capability to adapt to last‑minute changes and deliver a successful global tournament.
