Court Date Set for Robin Das Over Brighton Rape Case

Robin Das, who debuted for Essex in 2020 and has appeared in nine first‑class matches, is due in court on 9 October. The Inner London Crown Court will hear two rape charges that originated from an incident in Brighton reported in March 2024 and a later allegation dated 23 July 2026. Das was arrested on 27 August 2025, a week after playing a One‑Day Cup match against Middlesex. Following the charges, Essex County Cricket Club placed him on suspension while the investigation proceeds.
