Courier‑Delivered Threats to Ganguly Household Prompt Legal Action

Sourav Ganguly, the ex‑captain of the Indian cricket team, and his wife Dona have been threatened through letters that arrived at their home via courier. The letters, signed by a sender named Arun Kumar from Belgharia, contain violent language and direct threats to the couple’s life and the safety of their staff.

Tania Bhattaacharya, who serves as Ganguly’s private secretary, filed a written complaint at Thakarpukur police station. The document stresses that the threats have moved beyond verbal abuse to a clear intent to cause physical harm, demanding urgent police intervention.

Law enforcement agencies have taken cognizance of the complaint and are conducting a forensic examination of the courier package. They have also been instructed to provide protective measures for the former captain, his wife, and their employees while the investigation proceeds.

The case adds to a growing list of intimidation attempts against high‑profile personalities in the country, prompting calls for stricter enforcement of security provisions.
