Colombo Evening Honors Indian and Sri Lankan Cricketers Ahead of Second Test

Santosh Jha, the Indian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, organized an evening reception at India House, welcoming the Indian and Sri Lankan cricket teams on Thursday night. The event came as a prelude to the second Test match of the ICC World Test Championship, which kicks off on Sunday in Colombo.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India shared the occasion on its X platform, calling it a "memorable night in Colombo" and underscoring how cricket continues to forge stronger ties between the neighboring countries. Jha expressed satisfaction in hosting both teams, noting that their shared love for the sport cements a long‑standing relationship.

India leads the series after a dominant performance in Galle, winning the first Test by 165 runs. The Indians posted 462 runs in the first innings, while Sri Lanka managed 284 and 206 in their two innings, falling short of the 372‑run target set by India.
