China tops women's 50m rifle 3‑position, India finishes second
China dominated the women’s 50‑meter rifle three‑position event at the 2026 Asian Games, clinching gold with a qualification total of 1,773 points. India followed closely with 1,763 points, earning the silver medal, while Kazakhstan took bronze with 1,754 points.
The Indian trio—Tilottama Sen, Vidarsa Vinod Kochumkal and Aashi Chouksey—remained competitive across all three stages: kneeling, prone and standing. Their unified effort secured the team podium, even as Chinese shooter Han Jiayou led the individual qualification with 594 points.
Individually, Tilottama’s 590 points placed her third, granting her a place in the final, while Vidarsa’s 588 points secured the sixth position and a final berth. Aashi’s 585 points left her in 15th place, outside the top eight.
The event’s rules required each athlete to fire 20 shots per position, with the sum of the three shooters deciding the team medals and the top eight individuals advancing to the final round.
