Carvajal Joins Getafe on Four-Year Deal After Leaving Real Madrid

After ending a 13‑year spell at Real Madrid, Dani Carvajal has signed a four‑year contract with Getafe that runs up to 30 June 2027. The 34‑year‑old right‑back arrived on a free transfer, having logged 451 appearances for the Spanish powerhouse.

During his time with the Madrid side, Carvajal helped secure six Champions League crowns, a 2024 Euro title with Spain, and a total of 29 trophies across club and country. Getafe announced the acquisition on Tuesday, emphasizing that Carvajal’s experience will bring vital leadership to the squad.

Club president Angel Torres confirmed that the player completed his medical exams recently and will be officially introduced on Friday. The signing complied with La Liga’s financial guidelines despite occurring outside the regular transfer window because Carvajal was a free agent.

The new signing will not feature immediately, as he is currently focused on achieving full match fitness. Head coach Jose Bordalas will assess his condition before deciding on his debut timeline.
