Injury sidelines Cameron Green for first South Africa Test, recovery ongoing

A significant injury blow has struck Australia ahead of the South Africa Test series. All‑rounder Cameron Green, who recently notched a Test hundred against Bangladesh in Darwin and topped the run‑scoring charts in the August ODI series, will miss the opening Test at Durban due to an abdominal muscle strain. The injury occurred during the third ODI and prevented him from participating in the two‑day warm‑up match. Coach Andrew McDonald confirmed that Green’s rehabilitation is progressing well, but he will not be match‑ready for the first Test. The team will have to adjust its batting order, where Green has settled at the No 5 position.
