Bengaluru T20 finale abandoned after 7.4 overs, scores level
In a rain‑marred showdown at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, India managed 118 runs for the loss of five wickets in just 7.4 overs before further showers forced the match to be abandoned. With the result, the five‑game T20 series with the West Indies finished evenly at two victories each.
The toss, delayed from the scheduled evening slot, finally took place at 9 pm, granting the visitors the choice to bowl. Early trouble came as Abhishek Sharma was out for six on the fifth ball. Ishaan Kishan then delivered a rapid 30‑run burst, including two sixes, before being dismissed.
Sanju Samson and Shreyas Iyer steadied the innings, taking the total past the 50‑run mark. After Samson’s wicket at 66, Tilak Varma and Iyer built a modest partnership, followed by a swift 30‑run addition from Varma and Naman Dhir.
Rain returned after the 7.4‑over mark, prompting officials to call off the game. The series, which saw the teams trade wins throughout, concluded in a stalemate. Fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar, back in the playing eleven after almost four years, did not get a chance to bowl.
