Bengaluru Franchise Sets Up Team for Second IGPL Invitational

Bengaluru Stalions GC announced a four‑member team for the second edition of the IGPL Invitational, scheduled to start on 23 September in Ras Al Khaimah. The selected players – Trishul Chinappa, Veer Ganpati, Sanhit Bishnoi and Sudhir Sharma – were present at the announcement ceremony, which also featured the unveiling of the franchise’s new kit.

The club will host its home leg of the IGPL Invitational 2026 at the Karnataka Golf Association from 1 to 5 December. The composition of the team balances seasoned expertise with emerging talent. Chinappa, an internationally experienced professional, joins Ganpati, who topped the junior rankings in India last year and is the son of national coach Rahul Ganpati. Bishnoi and Sharma complete the lineup.

Chinappa stated that the franchise‑based format can help bring professional golf to a larger Indian audience, drawing a parallel with the Royal Challengers Bangalore cricket franchise. He highlighted the shift in perception that golf is no longer an exclusive sport for the affluent and emphasized the new collective ambition of the team.

The IGPL is the first franchise‑driven professional golf league in India, featuring ten city‑based teams across nine events. Each tournament runs for three days, covering 54 holes, with the two best scores from each team’s four players counting toward the daily total.

Bishnoi pointed out that the league offers valuable international exposure for young golfers who might find overseas competition financially challenging. He recalled competing in the windy conditions of Morocco, an experience rare in India, and expressed optimism about securing victories this season.

Beyond the professional circuit, the IGPL runs grassroots programmes, sending coaches to schools and residential areas, and includes Pro‑Am days that let amateurs, juniors and business leaders play alongside professionals. Fans, families and aspiring golfers are welcomed to support the Bengaluru Stalions when they return to the KGA venue in December.
