Ben Dketch and Jos Buttler fire England to 387 in decisive ODI

The decisive third ODI between England and India was played on 19 July at the iconic Lord's stadium. After winning the toss, England elected to bat and amassed 387 runs for three wickets, eclipsing any previous ODI score at the ground.

Opening pair Ben Dketch and Jacob Bethal put together a 192‑run partnership. Bethal’s 91‑run effort included two sixes and eleven fours before falling to the experienced bowler Krishna. Dketch later struck a landmark 141 runs off 135 balls, his fourth ODI century, and was part of a 101‑run stand with Jos Buttler.

Buttler’s explosive 41 runs came from just 13 balls, with three sixes and four fours. Jos Root contributed an unbeaten 74 runs from 48 balls, his third back‑to‑back half‑century in the series. England’s aggressive batting helped them finish at 387/3 in the full 50 overs.

Captain Harry Brook added a swift 14 runs off 12 balls, sealing the total that forced India to chase 388.
