BCCI Confirms Ishan Kishan Misses NZ T20 Clash

The BCCI has confirmed that Ishan Kishan will not play the second T20 International against New Zealand. The announcement came on Friday morning and was shared via the board's official X handle, bringing fresh concerns for the Indian team management ahead of the next game.

The board said Kishan suffered a low-grade right adductor strain during the first T20 of the series. Team medical personnel are now keeping an eye on his progress, and the BCCI has not indicated a timeline for his return beyond hoping for fitness ahead of the third match.

Kishan's involvement in the first game was brief. He was dismissed for one run from three balls, although India went on to chase down 226 with comfort, marking their highest successful chase in T20 cricket against New Zealand in this format.

Kishan, 28, has been a key figure in the middle order, known for his versatility and his ability to read different match situations. Across 67 T20I innings, he has amassed 1,955 runs with one century and 13 half-centuries. His top score stands at 103.

With the series at 1-1 in the balance and India leading 1-0 after the opener, the team will hope for a timely recovery. The third T20 is scheduled for October 27.
