BCCI Unable to Intervene as Court Order Paralyzes Arunachal Cricket Administration
Devjit Saikia told IANS that the ongoing dispute between two factions within the ACA has been escalated to the Guwahati High Court’s Itanagar bench. The court’s earlier order to freeze the association’s activities means there is currently no official officer to oversee team selection, training or travel arrangements.
Because the matter remains sub judice, the BCCI is constitutionally barred from stepping in and installing a caretaker committee. This legal vacuum has already forced the state to withdraw from the opening Ranji Trophy match and has jeopardised its involvement in upcoming junior competitions.
The lack of an administrative framework also raises concerns about the development pipeline for young cricketers in the region, as they are denied opportunities to compete at the national level.
